Diversity and sustainability issues will be explored\, as will the interdependencies between the various engineering functions and train operations\, so that key management skills including decision making\, prioritisation\, record keeping\, data analysis\, and report writing are developed. Recent investment has delivered major enhancements\, including main line electrification to Bristol and South Wales\, the introduction of the Elizabeth Line\, and new rolling stock and freight services\, while future schemes such as MetroWest and Old Oak Common for HS2 continue to reshape the route.
