SUMMARY:Petteril Bridge derailment - reactive recovery works
DESCRIPTION:Mark Evans\, Senior Programme Manager – Civils\, Network Rail\nBirmingham Section online meeting\nSynopsis: At about 20:03  on 19 October 2022\, the 17:15 Clitheroe to Carlisle Yard freight service derailed at Petteril Bridge Junction near Carlisle. The freight train involved was formed of a Class 66 locomotive and 14 loaded cement wagons\, five of these wagons derailed. One of the derailed wagons subsequently entered the river Petteril. The derailment caused significant damage to an underbridge structure which required emergency works to allow the line to reopen to traffic. This presentation will cover the key challenges and site constraints\, the reactive recovery operation by Network Rail’s internal delivery team\, and the opportunity works undertaken on the closed line to structures and geotechnical assets. \nMicrosoft Teams meeting \nJoin on your computer\, mobile app or room device \nClick here to join the meeting \nMeeting ID: 335 026 421 917\nPasscode: FpCevH \nDownload Teams | Join on the web \nOr call in (audio only) \n+44 20 3321 5213\,\,172119291#   United Kingdom\, London \nPhone Conference ID: 172 119 291# \nIf you are a PWI member and would like this event to be automatically recorded in your PWI CPD portfolio\, you will need to register for the event.
