DESCRIPTION:Strengthening Yarm Viaduct: Carefully underpinning a working Victorian structure\nPaul Wright\, Lead Portfolio Manager\, Network Rail and Nick Hill\, Contracts Manager\, AmcoGiffen\nNorth East Section hybrid meeting\nThe grade II listed\, 173 year old 43 span Yarm Viaduct carries the main line between Teesside and the South across the River Tees and the town of Yarm. Whilst many of its piers were founded on bedrock\, a number in the centre of the structure were constructed with timber foundations that have deteriorated over time.
