DESCRIPTION:Technical Visit to Network Rail’s Electrification (OLE) Training Centre and Training Span in Swindon.\nWest of England Section in person meeting\nSynopsis: The PWI West of England Section is offering PWI members and potential members a unique opportunity to visit Network Rail’s Overhead Line Equipment (OLE) Training Centre and Training Span in Swindon. This  facility offers the ability to see and even handle OLE up close in a safe environment. NR have kindly offered us access to the facility. Your visit will be led by an experienced OLE engineer who will explain some of the key principles of OLE design and construction using real-world examples. \nMeeting place: Outside the front entrance of Swindon Railway Station \nN.B. There is a 10 minute walk to the training centre. Please arrive in good time – if you are late we will be unable to wait for you. \n\nSafety Requirements\n– Full PPE must be worn while on site – steel toecap boots with steel midsole (no rigger boots)\, hard hat\, orange trousers and top\, gloves.\n– No PTS or TVP is required.\n– Full safety briefing will be given on site.\n– Any attendees with mobility problems should contact western@thepwi.org  first before booking\n\nBooking is essential and spaces are strictly limited to 25 people with PWI members being given priority.
