DESCRIPTION:RailEI Yorkshire and North East Sections “Hopetown Darlington Site Visit”\nIn combination with recent RailEI presentations to Yorkshire and North Eastern Sections on “Hopetown Darlington – New track for a new home” \nSite visit to the new sidings and network connection at Hopetown Darlington\, is arranged for Tuesday 8th September 2026. \nThere are two time slots 15.00 and 18.00\, each is expected to take approximately 2 hours. \nThe tour will include the ~1km of track and S&C laid over the last 2 years\, together with access to Darlington Locomotive Works (A1 Steam Trust) and Darlington Railway Preservation Society sheds. \nA round trip on a Wickham Trolley is also planned. \nBoots and Hi Vis Vest required. \nMeeting point is A1 Steam Trust\, Bonomi Way\, 1.5 miles from ECML Darlington Bank Top\, and 500m walk from North Road Station. \nParking is available at the A1 Steam Trust [by prior arrangement] ///taker.fight.calms \nYou can take the opportunity to combine this with a visit to the adjacent Hopetown Museum\, (an award-winning railway themed visitor attraction).\nDirect access from Hopetown Museum ‘viewing gallery’ can be arranged for the 15.00 slot [by prior arrangement] \nPlease confirm your interest and any parking arrangements if required to yorkshire@railei.org \n
