Yesterday, then Transport Secretary Louise Haigh unveiled the Government’s vision for an Integrated National Transport Strategy, a 10-year plan to “put people first” in the development of a fully integrated transport system for England.
The PWI welcomes this commitment to seamless multimodal connectivity, regional collaboration, and public engagement. As our CEO, Stephen Barber, noted in our October Journal, integrated transport is vital to economic growth, and this strategy promises to address long-standing connectivity challenges.
With successful examples like Transport for London and Greater Manchester’s Bee Network to guide the way, the PWI looks forward to sharing its knowledge and supporting the delivery of a resilient, integrated transport network that benefits passengers, freight, and the wider economy.
