Synopsis: The presentation will cover a longitudinal timber bridge replacement for a direct fix deck solution using the Delkor Alt.1 baseplate and associated stiffness transition management.
It will outline the site and constraints and why a fixed deck was proposed and will to look at how this baseplate manages the transition from a fixed deck to ballast track systems using formation treatment and varying baseplate stiffness.
Additionally, as this is a relatively new product on Network Rail infrastructure and still under trial, the presentation will look at the interfaces encountered through the development stage and other constructability issues relating to the site, addressed by the design.
