Asset management at a system level (IRSE, IET)
08/12/2022 @ 17:15 - 18:45

Unique assets – Asset management at a system level – Keadby Bridge
Ian Puckrin, Route Infrastructure Engineer, Daniel Rozday, Senior Asset Engineer and Simon Phillips, Asset Engineer Network Rail
Synopsis: System level asset management is now a common term, and assets such as vason bridges (rail over water) are great case studies in order to test our ability to look after a complex asset integrating several engineering functions.
In a world of computer-based railway systems it’s easy to forget that our rail infrastructure still has assets in key locations which are over 100 years old!
Keadby Bridge requires integration of four functional groups, Signalling Engineers, Track Engineers, Plant Engineers, and Structural Engineers in order to ensure the bridge system operates safely and reliably
We will explain the history of the bridge, how is operates, and some of the challenges our engineers are required to overcome in order to achieve high levels of performance at a system level.
