The Northumberland Line Programme set out to restore passenger rail services between Ashington and Newcastle with the aim of stimulating and supporting economic growth, regeneration and community development in Northumberland and the surrounding regions by providing new and improved transport links for local people and businesses. Learn about what was involved in reopening the line to passengers, the challenges the Programme has overcome, and the successes it has delivered so far.
