Network Rail is responsible for maintaining and renewing 20,000 miles of track in the UK and currently procure approximately 500,000 sleepers annually for renewals and refurbishment. On a mission towards sustainability and net zero, Network Rail is introducing sustainable materials for sleepers to ensure circularity within its supply chain and reducing carbon.
