Lawrence Hill Track & Drainage Renewal

Thames Valley Section hybrid meeting
Mark will describe how the relief lines 6ft drainage system at Lawrence Hill station, Bristol was renewed at the same time as the plain line track in August 2024. With particular focus on the steps taken to develop the drainage design including the checking of calculations and assessment of the adjacent catchment to determine the most appropriate intervention. Mark will discuss specification matters pertaining to BS9295:2020 with respect to ring stiffness and use of twin walled pipes in dynamic environments such as the track support zone with reference to EN1446 and ISO9969. In addition, Mark will describe the delivery of track and drainage during the same possession and express his views on how suitable this approach is.
