Understanding derailment mechanisms – contributory factors and mitigations

Thames Valley Section hybrid meeting
Synopsis: Bridget will describe a range of derailment mechanisms, with their contributory factors, taking real examples from RAIB reports. She will suggest how engineers, in various roles across the industry, can help to reduce the risk of derailment and identify possible warning signs to look out for.
Meeting in-person from 17:00 for refreshments courtesy of the PWI for a 17:45 start for all.
