Meeting in-person from 09.45 for a 10:00 start. The meeting place is outside the offices of KGJ Price at the eastern end of Pant Glas Industrial Estate. This is at the Trethomas end of Bedwas, south of Newport Road, the A468.
IMPORTANT – PPE must be worn: hi-vis clothing, safety boots, safety helmet essential as this is a working factory environment..
For more than 40 years, KGJ Price have been designing, manufacturing, installing and maintaining railway tracks throughout the UK including main lines, industrial, narrow gauge and heritage railways. This is an excellent opportunity to see how rails and track fittings are cut, shaped, formed and assembled into complete track panels such as switches and crossings. Everything is fabricated here in Bedwas, assembled in the yard to prove it is fit for purpose then disassembled and transported to site where it is reassembled as part of the permanent way.
