At the PWI, we work with several universities and colleges who are recognised for providing high quality undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in rail engineering today. Through working closely with both faculty and connected businesses, we enhance the student and apprentice experience and help to deliver close-to-industry applied learning opportunities. We also collaborate with career teams to assist with employability and entry into industry. SPL Powerlines UK is a leading provider of electrical solutions for rail infrastructure (Overhead Catenary System – OCS and High Voltage Traction and Non-Traction Power Supply – HV). Our services entail design innovation, surveys, engineering, provision of plant, isolations, construction, and maintenance services for mainline and high-speed markets. Operating throughout the UK and generating a turnover ca. £140 million in 2022 in the transport sector.
eviFile is a UK based software company that provides digital assurance for rail infrastructure contractors. Its progressive assurance solutions help customers, including SPL Powerlines, Alstom, TRU and Volker, to deliver possessions, OLE, P-Way, signalling and installation. Rail engineers create digital quality referrals, close calls and ITPs across the project life cycle, to increase quality and reduce risk, whilst automating Network Rail reporting requirements.
