Name: Peter Veryard
Role: Project Delivery Engineering Manager
Company: Network Rail
Level of Professional Registration: Additional Membership
Last year, Peter Veryard, Project Delivery Engineering Manager at Network Rail, gained Additional Membership with the PWI. In this testimonial, he shares why he chose to pursue registration with the Institution and how the process supported his professional development.
“As an individual who is already Chartered with another engineering institution, I found the process for being elected as a Chartered Engineer Member of the PWI to be very straightforward. The PWI provides clear guidance as to how to apply for Additional Membership, including the criteria for acceptance, mandatory evidence which needs to be provided, and tips for what supporting information might be beneficial to your application. I chose to apply for Additional Membership with the PWI because I am actively involved with my local Section and find that the Section presentations, PWI Knowledge Hub and training opportunities are highly advantageous in my role as a Track Engineer. I also benefit hugely from the knowledge and support offered by other track engineers who I know within the Institution, which is enhanced by the variety of industry roles and years of experience which can be seen amongst PWI members. There is a significant advantage in gaining EngTech, IEng or CEng status within the railway infrastructure industry, and I hope that I can now support other engineers in their journeys towards professional registration.”
Thank you to Peter for sharing his story and for his continued support. If you’re considering Professional Registration, discover how the PWI can support you on your journey.
