When I became registered as an Engineering Technician, I expected that to be my limit. It was rather fortunate timing that it coincided with the PWI launching a trial for the new Experiential Route to IEng registration. When invited, I was very keen to be a part of this and grasped the opportunity to work towards a higher level with both hands!
The process took two years for me to navigate through, and it was challenging on more than one occasion. I am glad that I chose to complete this alongside several of my colleagues, as this created a network of like-minded Engineers that kept me going, as well as the guidance of a willing Supporter & Sponsor.
As an Engineering Apprentice who joined straight from school, I have always been conscious of the level of my formal education. Therefore, becoming registered as an Incorporated Engineer is a great personal achievement and also allows me to demonstrate that I take my work and development seriously and have received recognition for that from The PWI.
