Cairngorm Mountain Funicular Railway: Repairs and strengthening works

Synopsis: Ken has worked for Balfour Beatty for 38 years, starting out as a summer placement site engineer to a project manager. He has been involved in numerous successful and challenging projects in Scotland and the North of England, including the Forth Bridge, Waverley Station, Stornoway Pier, Inverness Water Treatment Plant, Kessock Bridge and many others including the recent Cairngorm Funicular Viaduct strengthening. Over his career Ken has also been heavily involved in developing the next generation of construction professionals. His achievements and commitment to supporting the industry has been recognised in a number of awards, including a visiting Fellow at Edinburgh Napier University for his continued mentoring of the Civil Engineering students, from where he graduated himself with a HND in 1985.
