Barking Riverside extension slab track – from design to construction

Synopsis: Barnaby will introduce the BRE project and go into details on some of the challenges faced in the design and cover how these were dealt with also in construction. These include track-structure interaction, tolerances and the challenges of real 3D and the UK first precast slab track S&C. The slab track was largely on a 1.5km long viaduct with over 30 separate structure decks and combined steep gradients, tight radii, a scissors crossover and terminus station.
