Synopsis: Track must be appropriate for the type of railway being designed and track designers must recognise the requirements and characteristics of a specific project. This presentation will discuss some of the challenges faced in the design of track for a new modern urban railway, by highlighting unusual and interesting features encountered on the Bogota Metro Line 1 project which is currently under construction.
