During the talk the following will be looked at:

• Why and what you are monitoring?
• What type of monitoring? What type of movement?
• Equipment and other considerations.
• This will be illustrated with some case studies.

Chris retired from Network Rail as a Senior Engineer with the Safety, Technical and Engineering directorate and Survey Control Engineer for HS2 in July 2019. However, since then he has set up his own consultancy business within the railway engineering surveying sector. His surveying career has spanned more than 42 years, He is a Chartered Engineering and Fellow of the RICS and a Fellow and Past President of the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors and Permanent Way Institution member.
Chris was the Bentley Visiting Professor to the National College for High Speed Rail until March 2020.
