Spa Valley Railway is a popular heritage railway in Kent. Broom Lane Bridge, a Victorian steel rail-over-road structure, was beyond economic repair and the presentation describes the cost effective replacement from design through fabrication to construction and opening to traffic. Funding, plus the cooperation of neighbours and stakeholders, were essential to the success of the project and all form part of the various challenges that were encountered along the way.
